BI Delivery Manager

The BI Delivery Manager will be involved in delivering, Co-ordinating and the planning of development projects for Dixons Business Intelligence. To be the day to day point of contact, co-ordinating and managing delivery of the portfolio group of projects within Business Intelligence and ensure that the portfolio planning is prioritised, clear and adhered to.

You will:

Resource and project planning ensuring milestones are met and a consistent stream of delivery is achieved. Reporting into Head of BI. Coordinating with Development, BA and support BI leads. Ensuring full buy-in of colleagues and project customers to the committed timescales. Maintain project plans and timelines; agree and communicate deliverables; escalate and manage issues and risks which affect delivery.

  • Deliver portfolio of projects by defining, agreeing scope, requirement, constraints, priorities, success criteria, dependencies and managing them in line within agreed costs and timescales
  • Establishing effective monitoring and control mechanisms such that any potential slippage, overspend or quality problem is quickly identified and the project is brought back on target.
  • Manage change to ensure all new projects or changes the process and are understood, prioritised and approved prior to being implemented
  • Ensuring that the project solutions meets the requirement and quality criteria is fully agreed to, and that the business continue to be committed to achieving required benefits 
  • Identify and mitigate risks, both risks within the project and the consequential risks to the business
  • Facilitate planning, release management, and delivery of projects as needed to help teams work together and use resources effectively

You will need:

  • MS project; excellent communication skills (verbal+ written);
  • Expert understanding of project management
  • Advanced knowledge of portfolio management
  • Advanced experience managing third party resources, including those with resources located in a different country
  • Advanced agile development management skills
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to explain complex IT concepts to non-technical colleagues
  • Good coaching techniques
  • Good vendor & contract management skills, holding vendor to account and ensuring maximum performance from them
  • Good knowledge of other software development lifecycle and techniques
  • Awareness of a range of development methodologies
