About the Job:

BI Business Analyst

Be part of a team of BI Business Partners and Data Analysts/Scientists. Gathering requirements, mapping out business processes, analysing/delivering business insight.

  • Apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to assist business development by maximizing the benefit of Business Intelligence.
  • Collaborate IT functions, Business Units and external partners in analysing and integrating BI strategic development that marry best practice industry standards with business objectives.

Delivery of requirement documentation and supporting material to inform development team

Relationship with stakeholders to inform and lease during end to end project lifecycle 

You will:

  • Creating and developing relationships with business partners, identifying and shaping opportunities to improve business process or inform decisions with better Business Intelligence.
  • Conducting and facilitating workshops to understand, analyse and define business needs.
  • Challenge thinking and traditional solutions to advance the business by addressing the true business objectives.
  • Delivering clear and concise documentation to enable efficient development.
  • Supporting development team with business insight, translating between the technical and non-technical.
  • Shaping test plans and scenarios to ensure complete, accurate and approved solutions.
  • Seeking opportunities to develop documentation and processes to ensure knowledge is transferrable across the group and in a consistent, structured format.
  • Engaging stakeholders to ensure implementation is managed effectively on scope and usability from concept to post implementation sustainability.
  • Performance managing a team to deliver the BI requirement needs

You will need:

  • Understanding of a project lifecycle, familiarity with waterfall and agile methodologies.
  • Experience of business process mapping techniques and charting of hierarchies / reference data.
  • Experience of Business Intelligence and reporting tools.
  • Preferably having experience within and principle understanding of a retail organisation
  • Comfortable in communicating with a variety of stakeholders at all levels of an organisation.
  • Self-motivated to complete objectives under own initiative.
  • Ability to encourage and motivate colleagues, being a productive member of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, having the ability to understand complex business process and translate into clear documentation.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and confidently explain strategic thinking.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.
