Artwork Operator

Basic qualifications: 

Degree in related subject or Adobe Certification or Vocational qualification in an associated artwork / graphic design / business discipline.

Details: 

The role of a Production Artwork Operator within the Service Delivery Centre at Barnard Castle, requires an experienced user of Adobe Creative Suite Packages, an understanding of asset creation, colour retouching techniques is desirable and artwork build requirements for the Consumer Healthcare packaging industry. 

Experience of repro techniques and detailed knowledge of major print processes is also a requirement.

The role requires someone who has considerable experience of the technical artwork standards and print industry standards to build Consumer Healthcare packaging artwork and artwork templates. Experience of packaging print processes and ability to engage with Global Print Suppliers on live collaborative reviews is also a requirement.

Key accountabilities/responsibilities of the Production Artwork Operator:
• Accountable for creation of artwork in compliance with industry wide technical print standards and GSK specific requirements.
• Ensures that change orders, artwork briefs and technical specifications are appropriate and complete before implementing the artwork creation process 
• Adheres to GSK artwork production standards and SOP and maintains data accuracy in the artwork production and storage processes
• Responsible for contributing to design pre-production meetings to determine suitability of proposed artwork designs.
• Prioritises a high volume workload to ensure output is delivered to a consistently high standard in line with industry wide technical print standards and GSK specific requirements.
• Carries out all appropriate transactions and recording processes in our Artwork Management system and other computer software associated with the artwork creation process as necessary to maintain accurate and complete records of templates and artwork files.
• Monitors and records own performance measures and participates in review of performance with the team and management, using operational excellence / lean sigma tools to improve KPIs and use of resources. 
• Ensures that any quality compliance issues are promptly reported and investigated, and corrective actions are taken. 
• Maintains accurate and complete training records in an audit ready state.
• Maintains a safe and healthy work environment.
Extensive, demonstrated experience in the following:-
• Experience of production artwork / graphic artwork creation.
• Extensive demonstrated experience in a Consumer Healthcare artwork creation environment and working with FMCGs
• Experience of print or repro industry.
• Pre Press and associated repro techniques
• Has experience of the requirements for good customer service and communications
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the branding requirements for Consumer Healthcare Global and Local Brands and expectations of the artwork supply chain for a FMCG company.
• Expert level user of Adobe Creative suite platform.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret complex customer briefs to re-purpose assets to create market variant artwork.
