Introduction

• An Analyst (AML Operations) in our head offices in Swindon.
• £19,260 - £25,680 a year on a 12 month Fixed-Term Contract, working 35 hours a week Monday to Friday.

The Financial Crime department are responsible for protecting Nationwide and its members from all types of financial crime, including fraud, money laundering and bribery and corruption. A role in a department with an outstanding reputation, captivating subject matter and industry leading results will see you work alongside advanced detection systems, reacting to ever changing methods of financial crime, whilst striving to deliver exceptional customer experience.
As an analyst you will be carrying out thorough investigations and collating information on Nationwide’s customer base in order to identify potential risks to the Society. This may also involve documenting a report to the National Crime Agency.
Who we're looking for
You will need to have a keen eye for detail and fantastic investigation skills. Using multiple systems to gather information you’ll be able to quickly assimilate that information and make an informed decision.
As a minimum requirement you’ll:
• Have knowledge of banking and savings products, services and distribution channels.
• Have some experience in data analysis, gathering information and making decisions.
• Have a high level of accuracy with an excellent attention to detail.
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Be able to demonstrate good time management, prioritisation and organisational skills.
It would be nice if you also had:
• An Anti- Money Laundering qualification e.g. ICA in money laundering or be prepared to study.
• Have previously worked in an investigative role or be able to demonstrate problem solving and investigation capabilities.
What you'll be doing
• Conducting thorough investigations into suspicions of Money Laundering in a timely manner whilst maintaining a high level of quality.
• To be able to document in a report to the National Crime Agency your suspicion of money laundering.
• Action numerous time critical legal instrument court orders in a concise manner.
• Receiving and reviewing referrals relating to high risk members from detection systems, business areas and public sources and confirming matches.
• Performing detailed risk assessments on members detailing a recommendation to retain or exit the member relationship.
• Profiling members alerted through automated rules and assessing those members in line with Nationwide’s risk appetite and making a recommendation to retain or exit the member relationship.
• Supporting enhanced due diligence and ongoing monitoring activities completed in respect of Sanctions, PEP (Politically Exposed Person) and other high risk individuals/entities.
• Making and receiving phone calls both internally and externally for example from law enforcement, other financial institutions and members.
