We are looking for an administrator to the recently-established research Centre focusing on education and international development within the Faculty of Education. Working 18.25 hours per week, you will play a crucial part in the management and co-ordination of the Centre's work, and ensure the day-to-day smooth running of the office. The Centre's staff are actively engaged in research projects related to addressing education inequalities in access and learning in collaboration with partners primarily based in countries in South Asia and sub-Saharan Africa. Information about the Centre can be found here: http://www.educ.cam.ac.uk/centres/real/

Dimensions of the role include to support the Centre through fundraising and outreach, as well as to support existing research projects associated with the Centre which currently total up to over £1 million per annum. You will support the preparation of research bids, and monitor and provide statements of expenditure on projects on a regular basis.

The Centre collaborates with NGOs, ministries, aid donors and academic institutions in countries primarily in South Asia and sub-Saharan Africa and you will play a key part in handling these external relations, as well as supporting Centre staff in planning and organising their international research visits, as well as for Visiting Scholars to the Centre. You will also organise seminars and events, and arrange publicity and outreach of the Centre's activities.

Our ideal candidate will be educated to at least A-level standard, and will be highly competent in standard software packages and social media. You will need to be able to prioritise your own workload, and will have a very good standard of inter-personal skills with the ability to relate to people from a diversity of cultures and across a range of professional roles. Previous administrative experience will be essential which you will preferably have gained in an academic environment.
