We are looking for a registered nurse with experience in advanced practice within the discipline of acute medicine. The successful candidate will deliver excellent patient care within the acute medicine assessment units at City and Sandwell Hospitals. Included within our assessment areas we have recenty launched an ambulatory area on each site.
The Medical Nurse Practitioner will be expected to provide a high standard of clinical decision making, leadership and care. This role involves working closely with the Ward Matron, Head of Nursing and Acute Medicine Consultants to develop patient centred services and achieving national targets. You will be provided with an excellent opportunity to use and develop your existing clinical skills. As a senior nurse within the Assessment Unit you will provide visible leadership in the management of clinical issues arising.
This is an exciting opportunity for a nurse with excellent clinical and leadership skills to join our team of senior nurses. If you have significant advanced acute clinical experience, including at least 18months to 2 years at Band 6 or above, aspire to take on a more senior role, and are willing to develop clinical assessment skills in yourself and others, then this is the opportunity for you.

The Midland Metropolitan Hospital is being built in Smethwick and will be open in October 2018. It will be the single acute hospital for Sandwell and West Birmingham, providing state of the art healthcare facilities for the population. The Midland Metropolitan will house the emergency department, maternity, acute inpatient wards and operating theatres. Sandwell Hospital remains the site for the Trust headquarters. As well as providing outpatient services, day case surgery and intermediate care beds, the Sandwell Treatment Centre will have a large urgent care centre. The City Hospital site will provide outpatient care and day case surgery from the Birmingham Treatment Centre. Intermediate care beds will remain on the City Hospital site along with the Birmingham and Midland Eye Centre.
